BIGLERVILLE Mico Klingler, 84, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at the Village of Laurel run, Fayetteville. He was the husband of Nancy Jane (Dickey) Klingler, to whom he was married for 60 years.
He was born August 22, 1922 in Philadelphia, the son of the late Emil and Jeanne (Rauchat) Klingler.
Mr. Klingler was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in the 35th Infantry Division as a field medic in the Battle of the Bulge from December 1942-45.
He was a dairy farmer in the Two Taverns area for 20 years, living there another 30 years on a portion of the farm. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and was a lifetime member and a Bronze Leader of the Commanders Club of the Disabled Veterans.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Warren Klingler and wife, Kay of Missouri, Marilyn Eckard and husband, Ron of Hanover, Edward Klingler and wife, Jeanette of Gettysburg, and Francis Klingler and wife, Kathy of Biglerville; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Philippe Klingler.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with the Rev. Conrad Reichert officiating Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
