A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Nora Walls Parham. She was a homemaker and a member of Meadow Baptist Church. Mrs. Carithers was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Cleveland Carithers; and a daughter, Peggy Carithers.
Survivors include sons, Aldine Carithers, Kenneth Carithers, William Carithers, and Ronnie Carithers; daughters, Louise Maddox, Dorothy Thornton, Sara Cook; sisters, Evelyn Parham, Carolette Carey; 30 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 30, at Moon’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
