David, age 56, was born to Wiley and Leah Smith and graduated from Osawatomie High School in Osawatomie, KS. He later received a certification in computer programming from NRI schools. On June 28, 1997 he married Lynda Jo LiVecchi in Pueblo. David was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Osawatomie and worked at Weir's Auto Parts store for many years before relocating to Colorado where he recently retired from George T. Sanders Company. He had also been active in Civil Air Patrol, receiving the Amelia Earhart Award. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking in the mountains, cooking, and especially performing karaoke in Leadville. Survivors beside Lynda and Leah included: siblings Dale Smith (Carmella), Brenda Baker (Bryan), Donald Smith, Becky Brake and Douglas Smith (Karla). Funeral services held July 6 at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home.
