Arrived in the US from Russia in 1890 and traveled to three states trying to get naturalized. He finally succeeded in Pennsylvania where he lived the remainder of his life.
He married Antonia Simkowiak (1872-1949) in 1894, worked as a pipe fitter at the steel mills, and they had 4 children:
Wanda J. McCloskey (1899-1979),
Clara J. Squires (1900-1964),
Edmund Jakowski (1905-1908_, and
Chester Jakoski (1913-2007).
He died May 28, 1921 from Brights Disease.
