Johnny Adams, age 71 of Quinlan, TX, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family and friends, on Saturday, June 20, 2015. He was born July 28, 1943, in Cooper, TX, to Johnny Sherman & Billie Joe (Rittenberry) Adams. Johnny was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a supervisor with Texas Utilities and upon his retirement became a small business owner. Johnny was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rockwall.

He is survived by his beloved wife: Shirley (Kimbrell) Adams; their children: Tiffany Christensen-Peirson and husband Brad, Greg Adams and wife Robin, Justin Adams, Chase Mullins and wife Cathy and Jay Mullins and wife Laura; their grandchildren: Preston Adams, Avery, Ethan and Aidan Christensen, Grace and Riley Adams, Ryan, Emily and Allison Mullins, Kelsie, Elizabeth and Andrew Mullins; mother-in-law: Lois Kimbrell; brother: Ron Adams and wife Brenda; sister-in-law: Linda Locke and husband Larry; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother: Don Adams.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 1200 E. Yellowjacket Lane, Rockwall, TX 75087, with Dr. Joe Pool officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Graveside services will be held at 3:30pm in Grove Hill Memorial Park, 4118 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. The family would like to give a special a thank you to the U.T. Southwest Transplant Team for the special care and love they gave Johnny for the past ten years as well as to the donor family for giving John his gift of life on June 2, 2007, with an organ donation.
