Mrs. Cross's death certificate said that she was a daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Moore. Her first husband was Alexander Bennett, and it appears that they married in the early 1850s. In the 1880 Census of Mead Township, she was listed as disabled and married, but Alexander was not in the household. They had at least these children:

Ninnie Bennett
William Bennett
James M. Bennett
Louise? Bennett
Presley Bennett

In 1885, Rebecca married Jackson Cross, a widower, and they had a daughter:

Lucy E. (Cross) Chapman
