Mr. Skolek worked as an automobile mechanic in California and for the Ice Factory in Marseilles.
He is survived by his father, Leonard Skolek of Ottawa; by two sisters, Susan Skolek of Cazadero, Ca., and Francine McCollough of Urbana; and by a brother, James (Donna) Skolek of Ottawa.
His mother, Eleanor Skolek, and a nephew, Todd Skolek, died previously.
