Scholastica E. Kreutzer, 88, Pittsburg, formerly of Hays, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Mount Carmel Regional Medical Center, Pittsburg.

She was born July 19, 1917, in Hays to Joseph P. and Rosa M. (Conrad) Gerstner.

She married Otto A. Kreutzer on April 20, 1938, at Hays.

He preceded her in death March 30, 1980.

She attended Hays schools. She was a cook at Washington School and St. Joseph's Friary, both of Hays, prior to her retirement. She moved to the Pittsburg, Arma and Franklin area in 1987. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in both Hays and Arma; a member of Daughter of Isabella, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary, all of Hays.

Survivors include two sons, Alan F. Kreutzer, Hays, and Aaron E. Kreutzer, Arma; a brother, George Gerstner, Arvada, Colo.; two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Benedict Gerstner, Clarence Gerstner and Eugene Gerstner.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday with a VFW Auxiliary service at 6 p.m., Eagles Auxiliary service at 6:30 p.m., and parish vigil service at 7 p.m. and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, all at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays or Arma.
