Florence Zwerling was the daughter of Mary Peskin (1888-1976) and Nathan Zwerling (1884-1970).

She married in 1963 Peter van Dresser. [She had been his companion since about 1949.]

She was born October 29, 1919; died December 27, 1978; buried next to Peter in a grave marked with a Star of David at Ghost Ranch Cemetery, near Abiquiu, Rio Arriba Co., New Mexico; last residence Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Peter and Florence supported themselves by running a coffee house in El Rito, a small town in northern New Mexico, while building one of the first solar houses in the West in 1958.

Florence had a son Steven from a previous marriage.

Steven van Dresser attended St. John's College and lives in Japan.
