She was born in Patrick Springs on February 13, 1913, and was a daughter of the late Howard and Rader Dollarhite Bowman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Samuel Hodge, in 1996; a son, Carson Edward Hodge in 1976; and three brothers, Welburn Bowman, Dennie Bowman and Howard Bowman.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Mayo Baptist Church in Spencer.
Surviving are four daughters, Iris Setliff and Pauline Reynolds, both of Bassett, Jean Webb of Lincolnton, N.C., and Mary Queen of Stokesdale, N.C.; five sons, Thomas Hodge, Billy Hodge and Roscoe Hodge, all of Eden, N.C., James Hodge of Danville and Roger Hodge of Stoneville, N.C.; 35 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at Mayo Baptist Church. The Rev. David Cochram and Charles R. Tomlinson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
