This memorial is lovingly dedicated to my only niece, Erica. Much love sweet angel. We all miss you everyday.

Erica Shawn was born August 20, 1990 in Des Moines. She was the daughter of Zachary Peterson and Wendy Ogden. She grew up in Ankeny, Altoona, Colfax and Mingo.

She was such a cute girl growing up. She loved to play with her dolls and color and paint. She enjoyed playing with her cousins at Grandma and Grandpa Peterson's home. She loved the movie "Beauty and the Beast" and the color purple. Erica loved her cat Rowdy and dog Hershey. When her Dad would go out hunting or driving around she always wanted to go. Erica loved to spend time with her Mom. They loved to go shopping and surprise Dad at work with dinner.

She enjoyed all the time she spent with her families. Grandma Carolyn, Uncle Michael and Aunt Melissa were all very much an important part of her life.

Erica was in fifth grade when she was severely injured in a car accident. Her class was shocked by the sudden loss of their friend and classmate. They made sure to remember her throughout the rest of their school years.
