Youngest of 9 children, raised in Plainfield and South Plainfield, NJ with a love of the outdoors, crafts, and learning new skills. Active in Girl Scouting as a scout and then a leader. Graduated from State Teachers College at Montclair in 1937. Taught high school and junior high math in Highfield, MD, Clinton, NJ, Plainfield, NJ and Mendham Township, NJ, public schools until her retirement in 1975.

Founding member of Chester (NJ) Historical Society. Active in historic preservation work in Chester. Taught weaving and spinning to children in the Chester area, founding "Grist Mill Weavers" under the auspices of the Chester Historical Society.

Member of St. Lawrence R.C. Church, Chester, where she was active in the Rosary Society.

She loved dancing, gardening, fiber crafts, her daughter, and most of all her beloved husband.
