Ruthie was the daughter of Jeremiah Marion Fields and Elizabeth Jane McKnight. Two of her siblings were Stephen Calaway and Thomas Pearly.

She married Albert Adams on November 12, 1901 in Knoxville, Ray, Missouri. They had one son, Roy.

Paternal grandparents were Stephen Francis Fields and Miriam McDonald.

Maternal grandparents were John McKnight and Rachel unk.

Mrs. Ruthie E. Adams, 74, of Rayville, who had been ill the past five weeks, died at her home north of Rayville, Friday.
Mrs. Adams was the last of four children of Jeremiah M. and Elizabeth Jane (McKnight) Fields, native Missourians. She was born October 25, 1882, near Knoxville, and had lived in the Rayville community most of her life.

On November 12, 1901, she was married to Albert Adams of Rayville, who survives. She is survived also by one son, Roy Adams of Palisade, Colorado and two grandsons.

Funeral services were Sunday at the Rayville Christian Union Church, with Rev. Carney Swafford of Richmond, officiating. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
