Lydia is the daughter of Minot Baldwin (1803-1878) and Sophronia Hall (1803-1866).

I have not yet been able to determine Lydia's connection to the Charles Osgood family and why she was buried in their family plot. In the 1850 census (3 years before her death) she resided with the Abel Lawrence family in Townsend. Two of her brothers, Royal and Henry, were also in the household. Her grandparents were Abiel Baldwin & Lucy Gasset and Richard Hall & Hannah Kimball so there is no Osgood connection there.

From member Townsendburial (Susan): In the book Vital Records of Townsend, Massachusetts, published in 1992, the cemetery listings, compiled in the early 1940s, on page 397, has Lydia [recorded as Lyman A. Baldwin] in a lot with her mother, several lots from the Osgood lot. Since Lydia's stone is now lying on the ground and her mother's is broken, my "theory" is that when Lydia's stone fell over [after the early 1940s], cemetery workers placed it in the Osgood lot, where there was room, to protect it from further damage. Otherwise, I don't find any Osgood connection, either.
