I am using dates provided by Hugh Devine

He was the son of George Devine and Susannah Heverly

Commemorative & Biographical Record book supports the two wives named White

I have his first wife as Elizabeth Pepper, second wife as Lucy White, third wife and Huldah Whie and his last as Adelaide. Hugh Devine data

I believe that John Married Elizabeth Pepper, then Lucy White, then Hulda White or Hulda Carter probably the same lady and then an Adelaide. I think the that children Maria and Alice which I have as children of Lucy White are actually the Mary Alice that belonged to Elizabeth Pepper. No proof. Lucy definatley has a headstone in Devine Ridge Cemetery. I find no stone for John P Devine there.
Hugh Devine, the best Devine genealogist I have ever had the pleasure of knowing records Hulda White as Hulda Carter. Judith Wilkins, a professional genealogist from Salt Lake City records Hulda White as her maiden name.
On 1850 and 1860 census he is definately with his parents and only Mary Alice with him as a child.
