W. J. PETERSON DIES SUDDENLY AT STEAMBURG
Steamburg--Walter J. Peterson, 72, who had been in poor health for some time, dies suddenly Saturday afternoon at the home of Paul Newell in Steamburg where he had been taken by Mr. Newell just a short time previously. Coroner James Happell, Salamanca, said death was due to coronary thrombosis.
Mr. Peterson was son of the late Henry Peterson and Emily Harrop Peterson Stevens and was born in Buffalo, March 26, 1880. His father died in the city in February, 1894, and seven years later, when his mother married William Stevens of Steamburg, and came here to live, he came too. The mother died February 4, 1933, and since that time Mr. Peterson, who had never married, lived alone in the home north of the village.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Belle Brandt, Hamburg, and Mrs. Milford Wells, Buffalo, several nieces and nephews and a cousin, George Shore, Buffalo.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Steamburg E.U.B. church of which he had been a member a number of years, with the pastor, Rev. I. M. Swart, officiating.
