Two theories exist for him after his discharge.
1. He died shortly after being discharged in 1862, and his grave is unmarked.
2. He may have been discharged in 1862 to the care of one of his sons, possibly Jeremiah, and taken back to Iowa or Indiana. This is more plausible.
George Rezin (Reason) Rogers has not been found in the 1870 or 1880 census. But it appears that he *is* in the 1885 Iowa census, living with his grandson, F Marion Rogers (son of Jeremiah Rogers Sr) in Mahaska County, Iowa. There is no extant listing of a gravesite for him, however.
