Gabriel Adarme, age 26, of Edmond Oklahoma was murdered July 10, 2015. He was born April 26, 1989 to Rupert and Brenda Adarme.

Gabriel was raised in Hawaii. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and to Edmond, Ok in 2013. He moved so him and his sister could continue to live nearby one another. He enjoyed Arcadia Lake and the small things in life.

He had recently earned a promotion at Bradford Village, where he worked at as a certified nursing assistant. He was also a physical therapy tech and was enrolled in nursing school at Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma City, OK.

Gabriel was the unfortunate victim of multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. Edmond Police arrested Gabe Allen Wainscott, she 22, on one count of Murder in the First Degree and Kidnapping, resulting from Adarme's wounds sustained at the Sunset Ridge Apartments, Edmond, OK.

Adarme loved being a musician and artist. He filled his life with God instead of drugs, his family stated.

"He was just a really good kid in a terrible place. He tried to save everybody's life. He tried to protect everybody."

Adarme was visiting some friends after work at the Sunset Ridge Apartments when Wainscott entered the residence with a motive to kill, Kennemer explained. Wainscott later also told Edmond Police detectives that Adarme was not the man he had wanted to kill, said Jenny Monroe, police spokeswoman. Wainscott was looking for a man he called "Trevor". However, Trevor Mason Peck was not at the apartment. Peck had been arrested July 9 on drug charges and was transported to the Oklahoma County Jail, Monroe said.

According to police, Wainscott admitted his crime was "an act of passion." Wainscott said that Peck had been sexually involved with his girlfriend, police reported.

"It sounds like Gabriel was just in the wrong place at the wrong time," Monroe said. "We don't have any involvement of him what-so-ever or any history of anything."

Two other people in the apartment were able to flee because Adarme had distracted Wainscott by walking to the kitchen with his phone.

He had a natural affinity for friendship. Adarme was one of those guys who was always in a good mood and happy to be at work. Adarme's favorite Bible verse came from the book of John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends."

Survivors include his son, Azreal (6 years old) parents, Rupert and Brenda Adarme; brother, Isaiah Adarme; and sister, Mariah Kennemer.
