Ernest L. Dubell Succumbs In Ohio
Former Resident Dies Of Heart Attack

Word has been received of the death in Toledo, Ohio, of Mr. Ernest L. Dubell, 59, veteran of the Spanish–American war, and the former resident of Cedar and Johnson counties. He was found dead in his home in Toledo, death being caused by a heart attack.

Mr. Dubell resided in Iowa City when the Spanish–American war started and enlisted in the 51st Iowa which went to the Philippine Islands. Those who went from here at that time were Frank Bends, John H. Garnett, Ernest Dubell, William Haggett, Julian D. Kanchel, Burt Mahans, Charles L. Smith and William M. Smith.

Mr. Dubell returned to Iowa City for his honorable discharge after which he went to Toledo, where he has since made it home. Military funeral services were held it Toledo March 13th.

Mrs. S. I. Dubell of 1211 Keokuk street is an aunt and Mrs. May Gribbell of Pleasant Valley township and Mrs. G. Jacob of Sharon are cousins of Mr. Dubell.
