Son of the late Emil & Mabel Flora Bossart, William grew up in Rockford, IL and Indianapolis, IN and was active in the Boy Scouts of America and became an Eagle Scout. Granted a four year Austin Scholarship to Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 1930, he graduated with a B.S. from the School of Commerce in 1934. His business career included executive positions at Rohm & Haas Corp. in Philadelphia and Berger Brothers in New Haven. Mr. Bossart founded The Rite Box Manufacturing Company of New Haven and Hamden area in 1953. His commitment to business in the New Haven/Hamden area was evidenced by his numerous associations: a member and President of the New Haven Manufacturers Association, Hamden Economic Development Council and a charter member of Hamden's Kiwanis Club. Mr. Bossart was a trustee of Church of the Redeemer in New Haven and later a member of the Northford Congregational Church. Married for 64 years to Charlotte Werth Bossart, he was the father of three children. Also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at the Elim Park Chapel, 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire, Friday, June 1, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Northford Congregational Church Memorial Garden. Contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at Elim Park.
