Passed away Friday afternoon January 24, 2014 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper in Saginaw after a brief illness at the age of 61 years. James was born April 2, 1952 in Alma, MI to the late Ona N. and Ethel M. (Drowley) Allen and has resided in this all of his life. James was an avid fisherman, Harley Rider and working on and restoring Classic Cars. On September 25, 1976 James married Adele Rabbish, she survives him. James is also survived by three sons; Troy (Julie) Dietzel of Bay City, Jim (Kelly) Allen of Midland and Tony (Leigh) Allen of Freeland. Five grandchildren; Destiny, Hope, Katie, Taylor, Morgan, and a sister; Jean (Dan) Bixby of St. Charles, MI and many nieces and nephews also survive James.

Funeral and committal services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday January 28, 2014 at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, Freeland. Rev. Greg Ferguson will officiate, with burial to follow in LaPorte Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St., Freeland on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the donor's favorite charity.
