Cecelia C. Evans, age 104, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, Illinois, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Windsor's Johnson Health Care Center in Carol Stream, Illinois. She was born January 25, 1911 in Frisco, OK.

Cecelia was second in a family of three daughters. Her parents, McPherson and Grace Maddox, served as teachers under civil service on several Indian reservations at that time.

When Cecelia was three years old the family moved to Hemet, California, where she went through grade and high school, graduating at the age of 15. From there she attended the University of Southern California.

After experiencing a conversion to Christ, Cecelia determined to abandon previous ambitions in order to serve HIM and graduated from Life Pacific College in Los Angeles.

On September 29, 1930 she married Maurice Evans and they began a lifetime of service for the Lord - 25 years in pastoral ministry and 38 years in administrative work in the Great Lakes District office of the Foursquare Gospel Church. They were also active in the District Youth Camps and in Sunday School Conferences in Midwestern churches.

In 1989 they retired to Manitowoc, WI where Maurice passed away after a massive stroke in 1993. Cecelia moved to Windsor Park in 1994 where she has enjoyed an active retirement working with the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, teaching English to Windsor workers, leading a group of ladies who faithfully fold napkins everyday for Windsor's dining room, as well as participating in the bell ringers choir and other activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and sisters Grace Maddox and Margie LaMar.

She is survived by 2 daughters; 5 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; 2 gr.gr.grandchildren; and 1 step gr.gr.grandchild.

Burial services were held privately at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc, WI.
