Fred was on Knoxville, TN, City Counsel, during the 1930s and 1940s. Also served as the 64th Mayor of Knoxville. During the 1930s and 1940s he prepared an "Allen Family History," which was the basis of the genealogical effort, much expanded to include data unavailable to him at the time of his effort.
