MACON - Walter F. Doyle, Sr., 91, of 1633 Wesleyan Drive #117, died July 13, 2006. A native of Harris County, Mr. Doyle has lived in Macon since1933 and was the son of the late Edward B. Doyle and Reba P. Doyle. He was a graduate of Manchester High School, Mercer University and Walter F. George School of Law. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was clerk, United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and had served the court for 43 years. He was also United States Commissioner for many years. He was active in civic affairs and was past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. -He was a member of Vineville Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, Sunday School Superintendent, Training Union Director, Sunday School Teacher, Church Trustee, Chairman of Finance and Personnel committees. His highest honor was to be named Deacon Emeritus in 2005 for outstanding leadership, commitment, generosity, wisdom and faith, in his devotion to his Church and his God. He was also Scoutmaster of Troop 9, Boy Scouts of America, sponsored by the church. -Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Virginia Meadows Doyle, of Macon; daughter, Carol Doyle Gavin (Charles) of Manning, S.C.; son, Walter (Buddy) F. Doyle, Jr. (Anne) of Macon, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. -Services will be held at 3P.M., Sunday at Vineville Baptist Church. Dr. William Hardee and Rev. Ron Holland will officiate with burial following at Riverside Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 2P.M. to service time in the Parlor of the church. -In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Vineville Baptist Church, Heartland Hospice, or to the donor's favorite charity. -Visit www.mem.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
