Marjorie Olive Southam was born to Albert Edward Southam (1870-1962) and Olive A. Ryall (1873-1930) on 26 Jan 1908 in Los Angeles Co., CA. The family moved from California to Montana to Oregon. Marjorie attended Oregon State University and became employed as a high school teacher in Willamina, Yamhill Co., OR by 1930. She married Donald Hugh Black (1906-1961) on 27 Aug 1932 in Corvallis, Benton Co., OR. They had their first two children here: 1) Gary Black (1934- UNK) and 2) Sharon Leigh Black Rowson (b. 1935 )(Donald Eugene Rowson). By the 1940 Census, her husband, Donald, is an Advertising Copywriter for a newspaper in Salem, Marion Co., OR. Here they had another child, 3) Joel Anthony Black (b. 1940 ) Donald continued his advertising career in Los Angeles Co., California by 1950. He died in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles Co., CA in 1961 at the age of 55. His remains were cremated by Grand View Cemetery Crematorium and the ashes scattered over the Pacific Ocean. Marjorie, remained in this city until her death in 1989. Her remains were also cremated by Grand View Cemetery Crematorium and ashes scattered over the Pacific Ocean.
