Neva Lorene (Elmore) Allen was born March 18,1915,in Crittenden, Camden Co., Missouri

Her parents were Julie Caroline Phelen & Charles Erasmus Elmore. Neva was one of 8 children. She lived in Okla. from the time she was 9. There she married John Erby Allen on Nov. 22, 1933. They moved to Calif. in 1935 and lived there until 1992, when they moved to Puyallup, Wash.

Neva worked outside the home in various jobs, but was primarily a homemaker, all her married life. Her hobbies were handcrafts and gardening. She was an excellent seamstress, creating patterns from looking at the Sears Catalog, sewing them by hand before she had a machine. She loved her family and enjoyed understanding their past through genealogy.

IT COMFORTS ME TO KNOW:
"My mother died this morning", is a phrase the world can understand; but she didn't really die you see, she just moved to a better land.
The shell we call a body, had taken things she loved; Today, the soul that was my mother is whole again, above.

Once more she sees the beauty, blind eyes had ceased to show; If Heaven has a flower garden, she's walking there I know. Walking on two legs straight and strong;
no hated cane, walker or wheelchair to slow her down. Standing on her own, in the presence of God, whom she loved, to receive her promised crown.

The hand that had failed her for many years,
will reach out to her Savior dear;
the useless arm will be healed once more.
She has nothing more to fear.
She remembers all she needs to know:
no sadness, pain or sorrow,
To the body she left; NO, I would not wish her back, if she could return tomorrow.

We grieve for ourselves, at her leaving,
but rejoice that she's happy once more.
No, dear friends, my mother did not die this morning, she just crossed over to Heaven's shore.

We will miss you mom.
