Robert Christian Armstrong III died peacefully at his home on July 12, 2015 in West Palm Beach, Fla., at the age of 77.

Robert "Brush" Armstrong was born on Dec. 8, 1937 in Rogersville, Tenn. He a graduate of Rogersville High School and from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute in 1959. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and earned his masters degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky.

Bob was a 32nd-degree Mason and a Shriner. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. He held positions within the nuclear division of Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga for many years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. Armstrong Jr. and Pauline Raulston Armstrong.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Scott Armstrong; two sons, Robert Christian Armstrong IV (Heather) and Donald Hart Armstrong (Shelley) both of Chattanooga; two stepchildren, Stacey C. Donayre (Fernando) of Miami, Fla. and John S. Hall (Nastaja) of Hilton Head, S.C.; and sister, Shirley Armstrong Price (Henry), of Rogersville, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren, Robert C. Armstrong V, Patrick Newman Armstrong, Emily Jane Armstrong, Kathryn Tellier Armstrong, Alexander Hart Armstrong, Melissa Tabor Armstrong, Aylah Donayre, Braden Donayre, Kairah Hall, Preston Hall and 1 great-grandchild, Kinsley Armstrong.

A memorial service will be held at New Providence Church in Surgoinsville, Tenn., at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
