Benjamin Funeral Service - Alpha “Faye” (Neel) Albert was born March 6, 1939 on the Verdigris River Island during a 100 year flood without the help of a doctor or midwife to Charles Earl and Elizabeth (Betty) (Hart) Neel near Alluwe OK.

She passed away on July 17, 2015.

Graveside services are at 10:00 am on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the McMains Cemetery with Ben Killion officiating. She was of the Southern Baptist faith. As a small girl she would go coon hunting with her dad and dog Driver. After dark she would look to the North Star to guide her home alone. She met Ray Lewis Albert while playing a pickup basketball game when he stole the ball from her, bringing her great displeasure. They went on to marry Dec. 3, 1955 in Miami OK and moved to Buffalo Gap TX until Ray was deployed to Okinawa Japan. Upon Ray’s honorable discharge they returned to Nowata County. The early 1960’s brought another big move for her family when they moved to Illinois. She graduated from Sawyer Secretarial College and became a legal secretary in Chicago. They moved back to Oklahoma in the early 1970’s and bought a ranch near Alluwe. Faye enjoyed her cattle. She would sing a song about find a granddaddy long leg to point the way and claimed it led her to the cows every time. All things related to ranching and land brought her joy. They spent the next 40+ years buying, improving and selling land. She worked at Nowata General Hospital, First National Bank, and was a dedicated Nowata County Precinct Election Official. One of her favorite pastimes was dancing to Elvis’s music. She passed along her strong work ethics and belief in being a productive member of society to her three children. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Albert family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Medicalodges Dewey and Cornerstone Hospice for their loving care.
Faye is survived by her children, Debi Albert Brewer and Jeff of Bartlesville OK, Steve Albert and Kristy of Winganon OK, Doug Albert and Diane of Nowata OK. Her grandchildren Amy, Josh and Jake Albert, and Riley and Gage Hutt, Jennifer Olson; great grandchildren Gunter, Madyson, Tanner, Lilly, Sean, Adam and Lyla; sisters Earlene Mattix, Janet Young, Wanda LaRue and brother Charlie “Bud” Neel. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray, mother, father, a sister, Ruth and grandson Adam Brewer.
