Joey Brent Eversole, age 76, of Crockett, VA passed away Wednesday,
July 1, 2015.
He was born March 2, 1939 in Wythe County, the son of the late
Noel and Viola Spraker Eversole. Joey was an avid Ham Radio
enthusiast. He received the Silver Beaver award with the
Boy Scouts of America having served over 30 years. He received
awards from the Washington-Baltimore Methodist Conference;
also an award with Prince Georges County, Maryland for his work
in setting up a Drug Program.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis M. Eversole; children,
Debra Kay and husband David of Greenville, SC, Thomas Eversole
and wife Rebecca of Inwood, WV; three grandchildren, Heather
Russell, Christopher Finch and Stephen Finch; four great
grandchildren, Kailey, Cheyanne, Jillian and Lillian;
best friend, Fleet Stanley of Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will
be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Barnett Funeral
Chapel with the Reverend Rick Lindamood and Reverend
Steve Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood
Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, VA. The family will
receive friends Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
at the funeral home or at the residence at any time.
