Mr. Pennington was born in Red Bank, a son of the late William L. and Emily Burdge Pennington. He was a carpenter.
He belonged to the Reformed church of Red Bank, the Mystic Brotherhood Lodge No. 21, F. & A. M., Hiram Chapter No. 1, Royal Arch Masons, Red Bank Lodge of independent Foresters, Union Hose company and the Exempt Firemen's association.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna L. Jervis Pennington; two daughters, Mrs, Jacob T. Zoldak of Little Silver and Mrs. William Davis of Liberty Corners; a brother, W. Harry Pennington, and two sisters, Miss Geneva Pennington and Miss Ruth A. Pennington, all of Red Bank, and three grandchildren.
A Masonic service was held Sunday night with William T. Vaughn as master. The funeral service was held Monday at the Adams Memorial home, with Rev. John G. Gebhard of Germantown, N. Y., former pastor of the Reformed church here, officiating.
Interment was in Fair View cemetery.
Bearers were Roger Wymbs, Calvin Rowe ind Harry Hullck, representing the Mystic Brotherhood, and Walter England, Charles Knoll, Jr., and Vernon Dye, representing Union Hose company.
