In 1870 the newlyweds were residing in Scioto Township in Jackson County and William was a farmer.
In 1880 the couple was living in Marion, Harrison, Missouri. William was a farmer. The couple had three children: Clarinda and John born in Ohio and Lee born in Missouri.
The family had returned to Jackson County by 1889 as evidenced by the marriage of daughter Clarinda.
In 1900 William was enumerate as John. Their son John W lived with them as well as John's son William Clyde. It is not known where John's wife Leona was at that time. Nancy said that she was the mother of 5 children, 3 of whom were living.

William died in 1924. Sometime after that Nancy would have gone to live with her son Lee as the informant on herdeath record was her son Lee. Nancy's place of residence was The Clark County Children's Home which is where Lee was recorded living in 1930 - he was the in-house stationary engineer.
