Maxine M. Tolley, 90, of Urbana and formerly of McLeansboro died 5:10 a.m. July 16, 2006, at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana.
She worked many years as a garment finisher at the former Elder Manufacturing Co. in McLeansboro.
Mrs. Tolley was born June 23, 1916, in Danville to Herman and Hazel (Black) Schwartz. She married Omer Ralph Tolley in 1933 in Mt. Vernon; he preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday July 18 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. John Lee Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation was after 1 p.m. Tuesday July 18 until the service time at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Mrs. Tolley is survived by two sons, Larry Tolley and wife Carol of St. Joseph and Eddie Tolley and wife Rethea of Sidney; a daughter, Kathryn Byrd and husband John of Val Rico, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Tolley of Milan; a sister, Doris Newful of Michigan City, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren, Roxanne Tolley, Randy Tolley, Rodney Tolley, Michael Tolley, Steven Tolley, Tammy Wurl, Richard Tolley, Kathryn Tolley, Rick McDade and Cheryle Byrd; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Randall Tolley; two brothers, Dean Bruce and Hubert "Bud" Bruce Jr.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Koczur and Betty Bibb; and a brother-in-law, George Newful.
