William "Bill" Durwood Sellars, age 86 of Annandale, VA, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA.
He was born in Hyattsville, MD on January 10, 1929, the son of the late Robert and Clara (Conger) Sellars.
On November 2, 1964 he married Hilda Elaine (Hinkle) Sellars, who survives in Annandale.
Mr. Sellars was a graduate of Hyattsville High School and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He retired from Local #400 Clerks Union as Executive Vice President and was past President of Local #393 Meat Cutters Union, representing Giant and Safeway Foods.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Sellars is survived by: a daughter, Laura Goodman and husband Thomas of Springfield, VA; and a son, John Sellars of Annandale, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mr. Sellars' family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2015 from Noon until 2:00 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV.
Following visitation, funeral services will be at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.
Interment will be in the North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV.
