Edna Lillian Sacarias, Deer River, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Homestead Nursing Home, Deer River. She was born June 13, 1912, near Brandon, to John and Minnie Olson.

She married Cleve B. Sacarias in July of 1929 in Alexandria and the couple moved to Deer River in 1937. After her children were grown she worked 30 years as a nurses aid at the Deer River hospital.

Edna is survived by her daughters: Adeline Mercil, and Eleanor Barrett; grandchildren: Cindy Barrett, Cheryl Splawn, Melanie Herr, Wanda Mayhew, Michael Mercil, Twyla Pyatt, Hayden, Idaho, James Mercil, Shoreview, Scotty Sacarias, JoAnn Cooper, Cleve Cooper, Dawn Nalle, David Cooper, Paula Glado and Deborah Hilton, Carolyn Landry, and Susan Ebrill; several great-grandchildren; brother, Mervin; and sisters: Ellen Labelle, Emily Swigart, Marie Sakie, Sarah Ann Mithun;

Preceding her in death were her husband, Cleve; son, Cleve Reuben; sisters: Ruth and Lavina; and brothers: Kenneth and Freeman.

Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Deer River Township.
