Jesse Ransom Hollis was born on September 8, 1873 in Canaan, Benton County, Mississippi to Thomas Jesse Hollis and Sarah Elizabeth Whitten Hollis. He moved to Memphis in 1899. He was a city employee at one time and operated the first grocery store in the Hollywood section of Memphis. He later owned and operated the Hollis Dairy for over 30 years. His first wife, Minnie Lee Culbreath Hollis, proceeded him in death. At the time of his death, he was married to Anna Melton.

At one time there was a marker. Cemetery is overgrown and I haven't been able to find it.
UPDATE: 1/2007. The Cemetery has been cleaned out and my sister and I were able to locate the markers.
