Mrs. Poffitt was a homemaker and a born again Christian who loved her family with a special attachment to her great granddaughter, Lilli.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene Robinson, a son, Aubrey York and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by seven children, Dee Ann Woolum and husband, Roger, of Mackey Bend, Marlene Tidwell and husband, Jimmy, of Bryants Store, Dennie York of Mackey Bend, Ada Vandelden and husband, Richard, and Lisa Jackson and husband, Lynn, all of Bushnell, FL, Sharon Zegarzewski and husband, Ron, of Claremore, OK and Shelia Grubbs and husband, Clayton, of London; 28 grandchildren, Roger, Jennifer, Ashley, Granville, Amanda, Cassie, Joey, Brian, Lisa, Holly, Ryan, Sosha, Alea, Gloria, Zeb, Dedra, Glenda, Eslie, Linda, David, Paul, Sydney, Arlene, Karen, Angela, John, Christy and James; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Hurst of Danville and Carrie Root and husband, Russell, of Chicago, IL; a brother, Jessie Hodge and wife, Delores, of London; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, July 29 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Don Madden officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.
