HARRY F. HARTWAY

Harry F. Hartway, 68, of 1910-17th St., Two Rivers, retired employe of Plant No. 1 of Mirro Aluminum Co., a past grand of Two Rivers Lodge No. 66, IOOF and a real estate salesman for a number of years, died Wednesday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. He had been in failing health two years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, the Rev. Karl F. Koch, pastor of Emanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery.

Mr. Hartway was born Feb. 22, 1897, in Macone County, Mich., son of the late Christian and Emma Seafert Hartway. When he was 11 the family brought him to Mountain, Wis., and later he resided at Butternut, Wis., until 1919 when he came to Two Rivers. For 30 years he was a Mirro Aluminum Co. employe, serving most of the period as a truck driver. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge at Two Rivers for 45 years, holding most of the offices. One of the founders of the Mirro Employes Credit Union, he served as its treasurer from 1950 to 1955. He also served as president of the Federal Labor Union at Two Rivers for five years.

Mr. Hartway married the former Ella Gringle at Two Rivers in 1921. She preceded him in death 19 years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Conrad Vogel, of Two Rivers and Elmer Hartway, of Milwaukee, a sister, Mrs. Edward Eberhardt, of Ellenton, Fla., and a brother, Earl, of Park Falls.

Friends may call at the funeral chapels after 3 p.m. Thursday.
