Funeral services for Ernest Herman, 73, (photo) of Milwaukee, a butcher in Two Rivers shops and later operating his own meat markets, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. W.G. Haase officiating, burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mr. Herman, who had been employed as a butcher in Milwaukee for nearly 20 years, died of a heart ailment at St. Joseph Hospital in that city early Wednesday morning. He was born in the Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, on May 11, 1882, a son of the late David and Caroline Messman Herman. When he was a youth he came to Two Rivers to learn the butcher trade and was employed at the old William Hammel and Fred Tegge meat markets. He later conducted his own markets on the north side and east side of Two Rivers.
Surviving Mr. Herman are his wife, the former Theresa Vanderbloemen, whom he married in Two Rivers on July 9, 1917; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Schwabenlender of Milwaukee; two sons, William of Wisconsin Dells, and Kenneth Herman of Two Rivers; a sister, Mrs. Robert Glandt of Two Rivers; a brother, Herbert Herman of the Town of Carlton, and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
