ATTORNEY EELLS DIES
Attorney Thomas Eells, of Albion, Passes Away at 2 p.m. To-day
Albion, Ind., July 19 - Attorney Thomas M. Eells, a widely known attorney of the Twelfth district, and a highly respected citizen of Albion died at his home corner of York and Highland streets Friday, July 1907, at 2 p.m. after a week's serous illness, although in declining health for some time. Mr Eells was native of Ohio, born in Columbiana County in 1843, where he passed his early life on the farm. At the breaking out of the rebellion he enlisted in Company H, 115 volunteer infantry, and remained in the service nearly three years. Upon his return to Ohio he decided on the subject of law and soon entered Ohion Union law college at Cleveland, from which the institution he graduated in 1866, when he came to Albion and began the practice of law. He has Noble county as a superintendent of schools and as examiner. He was married in 1871 to Miss Sarah A. Phenicie, also a native of Ohio. To this union was born two children. Mrs. Mabel Remley and Mr. Charles Eells, each of whom are married and reside in Kansas City, Mo. As a citizen and as a soldier Mr. Eells was fearless in the discharge of any duty devolving upon him. The members of the Noble county bar, citizens of Albion and vicinity are bereaved to lose from their midst so worthy and noble a man, one who always had a friendly greeting for his friends and a good word for his fellow citizens, The funeral arrangements have not been made at this writing.
