John William was the son of Albert and Susan E. Warner Fox, and was born near Cedar. John was united in marriage to Mary Jane Arnold on Nov. 2, 1882, and they had 2 sons - Orville J. [see memorial] and Roscoe D. [see memorial]. His obit reads that John was converted in middle life and his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior never swerved. He was also a kind and loving father and husband, as well as a prosperous farmer and took pride in beautifying his home -- for in all things it was his earnest desire to rear his children in such a way as never to bring grief to the hearts of the parents. With no complaints, he suffered from asthma in his later years and eventually cancer. His sons married and John had a grandson, Leo (by Orville). John's siblings include brothers, Ed and Charles T. [see memorial], and sister, Alice A. [Votaw].
