Nellie Alexander Burns, 85, of
Rossville, died at 5 a.m. Aug. 8,
1991, in Home Hospital where she
had been a patient one day. She had
been ill since March.

Born Jan. 28, 1906, in Alto, She
married Lester Alexander on Dec.
6, 1924. He died March 12, 1966.
Her second marriage was to Basil
Burns on Dec. 20, 1969. He died
Sept. 29,1984.

She had lived in Rossville since
1932, and in Kokomo and Alto
before that.

She worked as a seamstress for
Milner Community Health Care,
and she and her husband owned
and operated Alexander’s Produce
Co. in Rossville for a number of
years.

She was a member of Mount
Zion Baptist Church of Delphi.

Surviving are a daughter, two
brothers, three sisters, four
grandchildren, four step
grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; and a great-
great-grandson.

Services and burial were Monday
in Rossville.
