Allen C. Durance. 90. resident of Maple Valley township for 49 years died Friday night in his home after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Valley Center Latter Day Saints church Rev. R. W. Herber, pastor of Brown City Mennonite church, will officiate. Burial will be in Valley Center cemetery.
Mr. Durance was born Nov. 4. 1851, in Enniskillen. Ont. and came to St. Clair county with his parents in 1853. He married Miss Ellen Wilke on Feb. 22, 1877. in Bruce. Mich. They celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary this year. They moved to their present farm home in 1893.
Surviving are his widow: a son, Fred Durance. Maple Valley township: five grandchildren: seven great grandchildren and two [sons] are dead. Robert Durance died in 1900 and Peter Durance in 1921.
