Barbara Johnson, 85, of Venice, Florida, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband and surrounded by her four loving children. Barbara was born October 4, 1929 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Rhea and Dr. W.W. Arrasmith. Inseparable in life for 65 years, she and her husband Richard enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren instilling love and appreciation for family and all the gifts life has to offer. Many cherished memories were made taking trips together, including camping, fishing and living 58 years in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her compassionate and nurturing nature touched the hearts and lives of many throughout her life. Known as Nana by her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. Cooking, baking and family were her passion. Holidays and family gatherings were celebrated with food made with love, from the main course down to her world-class pies. Barbara is survived by her husband Richard Johnson, her daughters Kim Witherby, Linda Johnson, Karen Johnson and son Mark Johnson (Carol); sister Ann Robinson; niece Vicki Setera (Buck); five grandchildren Jennifer Kramer (Jon), Spencer Graham, Katie Johnson-Lee (Rob), Anne Osman (Emad) and Sam Witherby (Calli) and was preceded in death by her granddaughters Kristen Johnson and Rhea Grimm; seven great-grandchildren Robert Lee, Audrey Lee, Alexis Kramer, Blake Kramer, Henry Lee, Harper Osman and Sawyer Osman. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Toale Brothers Ewing Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 10:30 AM at Toale Brothers Ewing Chapel with burial to follow at 12:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery.
