Mrs. Barbara Anne Fowler Cox, 76, of Jamestown, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville.
Born March 3, 1939, in Guilford County, Barbara was the daughter of the late Wesley Wayne and Annaflay Tinsabloom Fowler. She was a member of West Fairfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family. On August 24, 1956, she was married to Bobby Ray Cox, who preceded her in death on May 8, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Wayne Cox, in 2011, and her great grandson, Isaac Chapel, in 2012.
She is survived by her sister, Judy F. Willard, of Broadway, VA; three grandchildren, Karen Younger and husband, Cole, Ashley Cox, and Kevin Ashton and wife, Maria; and three great grandchildren, Samuel Younger, Ashton Younger, and Madison Chapel.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Springfield Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Kevin Gerber. Interment will follow in the Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 until 8 at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
