Obituary as printed in the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter:

Vivian G. Robley, age 88, a Manitowoc, WI resident, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, WI.

Vivian was born May 16, 1927 on the Meyer family farm in the town of Newton, WI, daughter of the late Erwin and Laura Meyer. Vivian was united in marriage to Lewellyn L. Robley on May 29, 1949 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Newtonburg, WI and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2011. The couple purchased a farm at Wilkes Lake and farmed the acreage until 1956 when they bought the Berge Farm in the Town of Liberty. Despite the hard work on the farm and the challenges of raising seven boys, Vivian still found time to be an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Women's Organization, Faith Quilters, Webster Homemakers, and volunteered at Peter's Pantry. In addition she was a 4-H leader for 25 years, teaching the art of leathercraft to many young people. Vivian enjoyed having her children have a good time in life; swimming in their pond and Hartlaub Lake, making lefse, simple springtime picnics in their woods, cutting wood with her sons, and baling hay, keeping the one on the wagon busy.

In retirement the couple enjoyed life in their new home by the woods, playing golf, square dancing, and playing various card games with friends and relatives. They traveled just about all over the world, including Mission trips with the People to People Organization. Vivian was an adventurous woman who experienced white water rafting with her family when she was 60 years old. She participated in a race for many years for the March of Dimes and came out a winner. Vivian was found to be a very vivacious person and everyone who knew her couldn't help loving her. She enjoyed going to rummage sales and finding something for everyone. Vivian & Lew faithfully attended their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. She began the art of carving when she was age 80. All of her grandchildren were very special to her and she made sure every single one of them received an animal she carved herself. Every Christmas they received a "surprise" from great-grandma.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law: John "Jack" & Marilyn Robley, Manitowoc; Bruce & Lin Robley, Manitowoc; Brian & Michele Robley, Town of Newton; Tony Robley, Kaukauna; Peter & Eileen Robley, Cato; Karen (Daryl) O'Hearn, Town of Franklin; eight grandchildren and their spouses: Jason (Michelle) Robley, Jess Robley, Seth (Leslie) Robley, Aaron (Bobbie Jo) Robley, Lesley (Jeremy) Burri, Lisa (Luke) Lane, Zach Robley, Brianna Robley; 2 step grandchildren and their spouses: Cory (Jackie) Myers, Kristy (Russ) Hess; eleven great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Rachel, Corbin, Aiden, Idella, Quinten, Autumn, Kylee, Reis, Cedric, Violet; 2 step great grandchildren: Abigale and Seth; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Myron & Marjorie Habermann, Manitowoc; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends as well as her longtime special friend since childhood: Eleanor Woldt Zoerb, Manitowoc. Vivian was preceded in death by two sons: Burton Robley (July 1985), James Robley (August 1985); two brothers: Harold Meyer (infant) and Lavern Meyer; and three sisters: Jermaine, Sylvia and Eunice.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Erica Cunningham. Vivian's cremated remains were laid to rest beside her late husband Lewellyn at Gjerpen Lutheran Cemetery, town of Cato, Manitowoc County, WI.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Richard Theobald and his staff for care related to the many challenges that Vivian gave them over the years
