It is not known when she immigrated from Ireland.

She first married blacksmith Thomas Fitzsimmons of Derby, CT (1837-1860) and was widowed young. It is not known for sure where she was between her two marriages, but in the 1870 Census there is a Catharine Fitzsimmons of the right age who was a servant at a girls' boarding school in New Haven, CT.

She married second Augustus Horn in 1873 in New Haven, CT. They had four children: Charles/Charlie Horn (1872 - ?); Katherine/Katie Horn Eyman (1874 - 1926); John/Jonnie Horn (1875 - 1921 in Port Chester, NY); and Anna Horn Goodspeed (1878-1947).

No sure trace of her son Charles has been found. There are Charles Horns in the area but none seem to be her son since they can be traced back to other families. Perhaps he died young.

After her husband's death, her daughter Katie Eyman and son-in-law Gottlieb Eyman lived with her.

Her grave may or may not be marked but her death certificate confirms that she was buried here.
