Henry Lafayette Moore
"Hank" passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at home in Clearwater on his 90th birthday. He was determined to live to be 90 years old and he did just that! Henry was born, raised, and lived in Clearwater. He went to North Ward Elementary, attended, played football, and graduated from Clearwater High School, Class of 1943. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and then attended Auburn University where he played football and graduated, Class of 1950. He returned to Clearwater and worked as a general contractor for over 30 years. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, playing bridge, football, softball, and baseball. He and his wife, Norma, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife; five children; one daughter-in-law; six granddaughters; one sister; three brothers; their families and many loving relatives and friends. Hank's wish was to be cremated and have his ashes scattered in the Gulf of Mexico. He loved the water and the beaches, and wanted to be returned to the sea where he had many memorable outings. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Clearwater High School football team, "Go Tornadoes" class of 1943 or to the Clearwater Bombers' Legacy Project would be appreciated. Rest in Peace, Proud Auburn Alum, Class of 1950, War Eagle!
