William Honeyman, who died yesterday morning was born at Teasses, Fifeshire, Scotland, June 9, 1840. He served an apprenticeship to the hardware business at Cupar, Fife, Scotland and was afterwards engaged in that business in Dundee and Dublin.

Mr. Honeyman came to Portland October 1, 1870, and was employed by Northrup & Thompson up to May 1878, when the new firm of Thompson, Dellart & Co. was formed, and Mr. Honeyman continued in the firm, through a few changes of name, until his death, the present name of the house being Honeyman, DeHart & Co.

Mr. Honeyman was president of the board of trustees of Calvary Presbyterian church, and was always active in the responsible duties involved in that position.

As chairman of the committee that thoroughly advertised Portland in the East last year, Mr. Honeyman has done much earnest work, and earned the commendation of all. His co-workers speak of him in the highest terms.

The bereaved family of the deceased consists of the widow, four sons and a daughter.

Mr. Honeyman was an honored member of the Portland Chamber of Commerce, and that organization will meet at its assembly rooms and attend the funeral in a body.
