Lloyd farmed in the Cavalier area. On November 15, 1953 he married Delma Hildebrant at Cavalier, North Dakota Lloyd was a 4-H leader, served on the board of the Farmers Coop Elevator and the Cavalier Credit Union, and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Cavalier, North Dakota.
