W. E. "Bill" Blevins, Sr., of Haywood, died Saturday. He was 75. Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday in Arpelar Church. Rvs. J. D. Henson and Leonard Crowder will officiate. Burial will be in Arpelar Cemetery. Mills-Humphrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born on Oct. 17, 1899, in Rudy, Ark. He moved to this area at the age of four. On Nov. 30, 1924, he married Keddie Smalley in Ulan. A retired guard at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary, Blevins was a member of the Sheriff and Peace Officers Association of Oklahoma and the First Freewill Baptist Church of McAlester. Survivors include the widow; one son, William, Jr. of Haywood; four daughters, Melba Clark of Del City, Faye Scarbrough of Ada, Virginia Johnson of Lincoln, NE, and Wilma Lee of Haywood; two brothers, J. D. Blevins of Haywood and J. J. Blevins of McAlester; one sister, Effie Smith of McAlester; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
